The city of Grove City and Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) has expanded COTA Plus, the region’s first public microtransit service, to provide mobility to the entire Grove City community.
COTA Plus was launched as a pilot program in July 2019, and this expansion takes the on-demand service from a five-square mile service area to more than 22 square miles. COTA Plus expanded Oct. 1, and immediately saw an increase in daily ridership.
The shuttle service provides customers on-demand rides via a mobile app. Similar to other rideshare services, COTA Plus transports customers from point A to point B. The service is delivered by trained, professional COTA operators using a fleet of branded, ADA-accessible vehicles. This first-last solution provides customers with access to jobs, healthcare and more, offering a fast, convenient and comfortable transit solution.
COTA has temporarily suspended all fares during the COVID-19 pandemic, so there is no charge for COTA Plus until further notice.

Customers may request trips within Grove City, Jackson Township and Urbancrest. Once requested, COTA Plus arrives within 15-minutes for a safe, climate-controlled trip.

To keep customers safe, COTA is following daily sanitization procedures that exceed industry standards. All vehicle surfaces are treated with an antimicrobial solution and sanitized several times a day, using CDC-approved solutions. Customers and operators are required to wear masks on COTA Plus vehicles and only two customers can be picked up in one vehicle to ensure social distancing. Exceptions are made for families traveling together.
The COTA Plus app is available for download to most smartphones, and can be found in the Google Play Store or Apple Store. Customers can plan their trip through the app and inform operators of any needs for when they arrive, such as wheelchair assistance. Customers can also call COTA customer care at 614-308-4400 to plan and request a trip.
The COTA Plus service in Grove City is available Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.
