The city of Groveport has a new finance director.
On April 22, Mayor Lance Westcamp, along with confirmation from Groveport City Council, appointed Jason Carr to the position at an annual salary of $98,952. He is expected to begin work for the city sometime between June 1 and June 15.
Carr is a certified public accountant who currently is a partner in the accounting firm Wilson, Shannon & Snow, Inc. where he has worked since 2005. He is responsible for managing the firm’s governmental accounting and auditing practice. In this capacity he has provided financial consulting services to the city of Groveport’s finance department since 2011. He earned an accounting degree from Walsh University in 1997.
“I’ve known Jason Carr through his work for the city with Wilson, Shannon & Snow,” said Westcamp. “He knows finance and he knows our finance department and city administration. He’s a good fit for Groveport.”
Carr will take over the finance director duties from Jeff Green, who had been serving double duty as finance director and assistant administrator for the city.
Green moves into the position of assistant administrator/development director for the city where he will pursue development in the downtown, office, and the city’s Gateway districts. Green’s annual salary is $109,179.
“I believe with council moving forward with interest in downtown development and the availability to keep our local businesses growing, it was time we put Jeff Green back as our economic development director full time,” said Westcamp.
