Christmas in the Village
Canal Winchester’s Christmas in the Village kicks off the holiday season in downtown Canal Winchester on Dec. 2 and 3. Activities will take place Dec. 2 from 6-9 p.m. and Dec. 3 from 5-8 p.m. This free public event features Santa visits, ice sculpting, kids’ activities, a gingerbread house contest, a chance to meet the Grinch, and more. Santa Claus will arrive downtown to start each night with a Christmas tree lighting. (Check www.canalwinchesterohio.gov, for Santa’s route each night as well as information about the Dec. 2 Brockstrong Light up the Night Holiday Lights parade.)

Visit with Santa at the Huntington Bank bring a camera to capture the moment. Toy donations will be accepted, benefiting C.W. Human Services’ local Adopt-A-Family program.

Other activities include: mini-train rides, hayrides, popcorn station courtesy of Canal Winchester Pageant Queens, cookie contributions courtesy of Canal Winchester Senior Citizens, outdoor carols courtesy of Canal Winchester High School Chorale, indoor caroling courtesy of Faith United Methodist Church, and downtown business specials and open houses.

Christmas in the Village is a partnership between the City of Canal Winchester and Destination: Canal Winchester. This free community event would not be possible without the support of local businesses and volunteers.

CW’s Breakfast with Santa
On Dec. 10, Canal Winchester will host its annual Breakfast with Santa at the Frances Steube Community Center located at 22 S. Trine St.

Two breakfast sessions will be offered. The first will be from 8:30-10 a.m. and the second will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon.  Tickets are on sale at the city’s municipal building and community center between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Roman’s Pizza will have tickets available evenings and weekends. Only 75 tickets are available for each session. Each $5 ticket admits one adult or child (children under one year free). Children will also receive a gift bag and visit with Santa. Bring a camera for pictures with Santa.

All proceeds benefit Canal Winchester Human Services’ Adopt-A-Family program.
