Changing the performing arts landscape in Canal Winchester

The heavenly sounds of a pipe organ will soon fill the sanctuary of Faith United Methodist Church, 15 W. Columbus St., Canal Winchester.

The church will become the first in Central Ohio to install an organ designed from the ground up as a hybrid organ solution from Rodgers Instruments Corporation.

According to church officials, the church is replacing an old analog organ with a new Rodgers Infinity 361 hybrid instrument. There will be a new digital console that uses industry-leading technology and sound from Rodgers’ partnership with the Roland Group, plus enough pipes to  support congregational singing in the church’s intimate space.

Church officials believe the pipe organ will provide an attraction similar to the experience at the Washington National Cathedral because of its pipe organ, though on a smaller scale.

After the organ is installed in the spring of 2016, the church plans to host concerts, recitals and other events.

The church is accepting personal, corporate and memorial donations and is also seeking grant opportunities. Contact Nancy Holloway or  Pastor Wayne Stuntz at the church office (614) 837-2343. For information visit www.winchesterfaith.org.
