Century Village Christmas

On Dec. 9, the Grove City community braved a snowy and blustery afternoon in order to take part in a multi-stop trolley tour that took them to the Grant-Sawyer Home, the Grove City Museum and Century Village at Fryer Park. Each stop highlighted historical holiday sights and traditions. Here, Morgan Myers, a volunteer with the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society, sets out cookies by the hearth for hungry visitors as the stop by Century Village.

Harley Bastion and Matthew Goodman, both of Columbus, gather around the fire during a lull in the trolley tour. The two were at Century Village to speak to the community about how Civil War soldiers dressed to stay warm in inclement weather and how they survived sleeping outdoors.
