Celebrating the 4th of July in Grove City

Celebrate Independence Day 2016 with free, live music and a community fireworks show in Grove City from 6 to 10:30 p.m., Monday, July 4 at Grove City High School, 4665 Hoover Road. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Live entertainment provided by High South, an international harmony-rock band, from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by the Grove City High School Concert Band from 8:30 to 9:45 p.m., as they play patriotic favorites until fireworks fill the sky. Seating is available in the stadium bleachers and soccer field. Free children’s activities from 6 to 9 p.m. including games, inflatables, a rock climbing wall and food trucks at the Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Road. The Grove City Kids Association is offering children’s activities and concessions as a fundraiser, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Murfin Fields, 4570 Haughn Road. The fireworks show starts at approximately 9:50 p.m.

“This Independence Day is our opportunity to celebrate as a community our freedom, the veterans who so bravely served and our active military now protecting our nation,” said Mayor Richard L. “Ike” Stage.

All carry-in items are subject to search by security. Blankets, lawn chairs and most other personal items are permitted. The following are prohibited: grills, alcohol, weapons, personal fireworks including sparklers, skates, bicycles, skateboards, pop-up tents and canopies, and pets other than service dogs. Coolers are not permitted in the stadium. Food and beverages are available for purchase.

Parking is restricted to one side of the street in the following neighborhoods: Briarwood, Hoover Crossing, Martha’s Woods and Clark Drive from 5:30 to 11:45 p.m.  Free parking is available at Grove City High School, Grove City Church of the Nazarene and Windsor Park. Parking is also available at Murfin Field for a fee, to support the Grove City Kids Association. Tailgating, flatbed trailers and recreational vehicles are prohibited.
