Just before 7 a.m. on March 25 a vehicle northbound on South Hamilton Road (State Route 317) ran a red light at Groveport Road striking a vehicle that was turning left onto eastbound Groveport Road, according to the Groveport Police. “The struck vehicle was flipped and came to a rest on its top against the front of another vehicle also stopped at the light,” said Groveport Police Lt. Josh Short. “This all happened in front of Groveport Police Officer Danny Amabile, who was stopped, in his patrol vehicle, on the other side of the intersection. As Amabile pulled up, the driver of the flipped vehicle was climbing out on his own. Although the crash looked pretty horrific, other than some minor bumps and bruises there were no serious injuries.” Short said Groveport Road was shut down in front of Kroger for about 75 minutes for clean-up and vehicle removal.
