An accident involving a car and a semi-truck occurred at about 7:45 a.m. on May 19 on State Route 317 just north of Pontius Road, according to the Groveport Police. Groveport Police Lt. Josh Short said the initial investigation shows that the northbound car allegedly went left of center into the path of the southbound semi-truck. The driver of car was transported to the hospital in stable condition by Madison Township Medics while the driver of the semi-truck was uninjured. “We had State Route 317 shut down for a little bit between Groveport and Pontius roads while the heavy equipment got the semi-truck out of there,” said Short. “That’s about the worst damage to a semi-truck I’ve seen in a long time. If the car had been just a foot more to the left things may have been much worse.”
