The Madison County Republican Central Committee (RCC) will meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 29 in London city council chambers, 6 E. Second St., to appoint a new London city auditor.
Individuals interested in the position should submit resumes to Nick Adkins, Central Committee chairman, via email at nickadkinslaw@gmail.com. Candidates must reside within the London city limits.
“Individuals with backgrounds in finances would be beneficial,” Adkins added.
The appointee will replace Nick Szabo who resigned Dec. 17 after an issue arose that was referred to the Ohio Auditor’s Office. The exact nature of the issue has not been stated on public record.
Szabo was appointed to the auditor’s position two years ago when former auditor Katie Hensel resigned to take a job out of town. In November 2017, Szabo won election to the remaining two years of that unexpired term. The person appointed to replace him will serve out those two years, with their term ending on Dec. 31, 2019.
