People who come out to watch the 2014 Ox Roast parade are encouraged to bring non-perishable boxed or canned food items with them.
Resident Marci Darlington and a team of volunteers will collect the food during the parade. Spectators should leave their items on the curb in front of where they are standing or sitting for the parade.
Darlington will donate everything she collects to the West Jefferson Good Samaritan Food Pantry. The project, part of her annual efforts related to Make A Difference Day, pays tribute to this year’s Ox Roast parade grand marshal honoree—food pantry coordinator, Susan Maggard.
