At 8:20 p.m. on April 20, high schools across Madison County–and across the nation–turned on their stadium lights for 20 minutes and 20 seconds to honor the Class of 2020. Community members were invited to drive by and honk in support of this year’s seniors. Madison-Plains High School’s “#BeTheLight” display included a special tribute on the stadium scoreboard. Earlier in the day, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that K-12 schools in Ohio will remain closed for the rest of the 2019-20 school year; distance learning will continue. Also this week, the Ohio High School Athletic Association announced the cancellation of the spring sports season.
