Beef show entrants hail from around state

Cattle exhibitors from throughout Ohio gathered July 14 at the Madison County Fairgrounds in London for the annual Madison County Showmanship Clinic and Open Beef Feeder and Steer Show sponsored by COBA/Select Sires.

A steer owned by Kayla Campbell of Greene County and shown by her brother, Blake, captured the $250 grand prize. The reserve champion prize of $100 went to Justin Shonkwiler of London.

In the feeder-calf division, Derek Parker of West Jefferson took home the $250 grand prize for his entry, and Courtney Trimbach of Warren County placed second overall for $100.

In showmanship, the winners were: beginner, Rachel Garrison of Mount Sterling; intermediate, Jenna Champer of Mount Sterling; and senior, Meghan Manning of London. All three are members of the Speedy Spurs 4-H Club. Each received a director’s chair.
