Arnold "The Bee Man" Crabtree, 66, demonstrated a living "honey bee beard" made up of thousands of honey bees at the Lithopolis Honeyfest on Sept. 6. Crabtree placed the queen bee under his chin and the bees then swarmed around her to create the bee beard. Crabtree began working with bees as a teenager. He told the crowd that gathered to watch his demonstration that he wasn’t afraid of being stung. "A honey bee doesn’t want to sting you," he said. |
