The Madison Health Foundation Bob Powers Classic Golf Outing will be held Aug. 9-10 at the London Country Club.

The tournament includes player gifts, prizes, challenging games and great food.

“The Bob Powers Classic is an exciting way to network while supporting the Madison County community,” said Kelly Snyder, executive Director of the foundation.

The Bob Powers Classic is a two-day golf event that offers two different formats. Wednesday’s four-person shamble begins at 1 p.m. Golfers will enjoy 18 holes of golf, carts, beverages on the course, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner and an opportunity to win monetary prizes.

On Thursday, there are still openings for golfers. A four-person Par 3 scramble begins at 8:30 a.m.; the afternoon round begins at 1 p.m. The cost is $80 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, carts, lunch, dinner and beverages on the course. The day also includes chipping and putting contests.

Back by popular demand, the event will feature an old fashioned picnic and ice cream social on Thursday evening. The event is open to the public and will feature live music on the patio. Happy hour begins at 6 p.m., with dinner and an ice cream sundae bar, sponsored by Bluebird Retirement Community, at 6:30. The event is included with Thursday’s golf registration, or guests may purchase tickets for $25 per person. The price includes a buffet dinner, ice cream sundae bar and drink ticket. Tickets may be purchased at the Madison Health gift shop or by calling (740) 845-7050.

The golf outing was named in honor of the Foundation’s longtime volunteer chairperson. Bob Powers was an integral part of the Foundation’s golf outing, originally called the County Classic, for more than 20 years.
