The 15th Annual Plain City Classic Car Cruise-In is set for 2-8 p.m. Aug. 26.

Vintage cars, trucks and motorcycles will line Main and Chillicothe streets. Cruise-in visitors can take a trip down memory lane, side-by-side with vehicles like a ’57 Thunderbird, a ’36 Chevy pickup or any of the other hundred-plus fine automobiles registered.

New this year are two forms of musical entertainment. DJ Mac Thomas will spin classic tunes and local band, The Grove, will play from 4 to 7 p.m. Many of the winners of the Best of Show award will return for a reunion of sorts in celebration of the event’s 15th anniversary. They’ll set up in the Winners’ Circle at Lovejoy Plaza.

Offering good eats are nine food trucks/trailers including Skyward Grill, Dan’s Deli, Buckeye Pig Rig, Timmy’s Meltdown, and Miller’s Olde Fashioned Ice Cream. The Sweet Ts truck will provide a preview of the new Tavern 161’s food offerings. Also back is the Beer and Wine Garden.

Goody bags will be distributed to the first 100 cruise-in entries, and the first 150 will receive dash plaques. Returning are the 50/50 raffle and a prize raffle for items like gift certificates and gift baskets. Bob Chapman Ford always donated items to the raffle, like televisions and children’s bicycles.

Award categories include Top 40, Entrants’ Choice, People’s Choice and Best of Show. All vehicles are welcome. As is tradition for this show, some awards are handmade by local talent.

Registration runs from 2 to 5 p.m. the day of the show with a fee of $13. To save a few bucks, register in advance for $10. Online registration can be found at www.uptownplaincity.com and ends Aug. 24 at 11:59 p.m. Registration forms can also be printed and mailed in advance or completed and brought to the registration desk the day of the event before 5 p.m. All mailed entries must be postmarked by Aug. 23.

There is no fee for spectators, and all visitors, registrants and spectators are eligible to enter the raffle drawings.

Cruise-in sponsors include: Bob Chapman Ford, E&R Tires Plus/ER Autocare, Foust Plumbing and Heating, Taylor Autobody, Der Dutchman Restaurant, Carlisle Gifts, Main Street Treasures, Richwood Banking Company, Lovejoy’s Market IGA, Union County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Plain City Druggist, Miller Family Chiropractic, Edgewater Place Assisted Living, DESIGNetwork, Tubular Techniques, Security National Bank, and Wolfe & Sons Heating & Cooling.
