Aug. 21: Poker Run & Hawg Roast to benefit Special Olympics

The 3rd Annual Special Olympics “Tour for the Tigers” Poker Run & Hawg Roast will take place Aug. 21. The event starts and ends at the Madison County Fairgrounds, 205 Elm St., London. All vehicle types are welcome.

The event schedule is as follows:

11 a.m.-noon – Poker Run registration. Lunch provided by the Madison County Cattlemen’s Association. DJ music.

12-4 p.m. – Noon departure with a police escort and a special stop at Fairhaven School, 510 Elm St., London, before heading to The Grainery in Plain City. Following the first stop, participants can run at their own speed to the remaining stops which include Ten Mile Inn and Oak Grove Tavern in Galloway and Crown Sports Lounge in London. The cost is $20 for riders and $5 for passengers.

2-4 p.m. – Car/Jeep Show registration. Vehicles of all types on display. Car show
awards start at 5 p.m. at the fairgrounds. Registration is $10 per car.

4-10 p.m. – Hawg Roast at the fairgrounds. Food provided by Wilson’s Family BBQ.

4-6:30 p.m. – Music by the Sean Prather Trio

6:30 p.m. – Sponsor recognition, Best Poker Hand award presentation, silent auction
closes, 50/50 closes

6:45 p.m. – Loudest Pipes and Best in Show contest

7-10 p.m. – Music by Jackass Genius

The cost is $15 for anyone who is not participating in the run but wants to come and listen to the live music and have dinner. Dinner will be served starting at 4 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate the day of the event or in advance on the event website. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics.
