Anne Gorman, a former vocal music teacher for Jonathan Alder Local Schools, has written a musical. “The Picture of Dorian” is adapted from a novel by Oscar Wilde. This premiere production will be performed Oct. 12-15 at Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium in Marysville.

Auditions are open to the public. Time slots are available 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. June 3 at Buckeye Brass & Winds, 202 N. Chillicothe St., Plain City. To sign up for a time slot, go to https://forms.gle/pPHjBjpdoVcsUX68A. A variety of singing and speaking roles are available.

Those who audition must sing a prepared portion of a song of their choosing (a capella), sight-read in groups from the score, and cold-read from the script. If needed, callbacks will take place 2-4 p.m. June 4 at Buckeye Brass & Winds.

Those who are cast will receive show materials for extended preparation time. In-person rehearsals will take place on Monday evenings starting July 10.
