"Anything Goes" at Bexley High The cast of the Bexley High School Thespians’ annual spring musical, "Anything Goes," including, front, from left, Martin Raabe, Herb Porter, Ross Darwin, Ian Klingenberg and Dani Moyer, is ready to set sail Thursday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Schottenstein Theatre at 326 South Cassingham in Bexley. "Anything Goes" is a lighthearted romp with mistaken identities and shipboard romances, and features music and lyrics by Cole Porter, with a book by Guy Bolton, P. G. Wodehouse, Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. Tickets cost $6 for students and $8 for adults. Summer Movie Series has
something for everyone
As America’s longest-running classic film series enters its 39th year, the Ohio Theatre observes its 80th birthday. Help celebrate one of Columbus’ greatest historic treasures with CAPA’s 2008 Summer Movie Series at the Ohio Theatre June 6 – July 27, a summertime entertainment tradition made possible through the generous support of National City.
Highlights include 12 series premieres, one double feature, one silent film, two Saturday morning features, and one late night showing.
Also premiering this year is a restored version of 1776 on Saturday and Sunday, July 5 & 6.

The 2008 silent film, Sparrows will be accompanied live on the Ohio Theatre’s "Mighty Morton" theatre organ on Wednesday and Thursday, July 9 &10.
The Series also boasts two special Fridays in 2008. July 11, is Chick Flick Friday featuring the series premiere of When Harry Met Sally. July 25 is Late Night Friday featuring a special one night only 11 pm showing of the Monty Python classic, Life of Brian.
Saturday morning offerings include the popular Cartoon Capers at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, featuring a dozen Warner Brothers classic cartoons, and The Muppet Christmas Carol at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 19.
Also on July 19 & 20, White Christmas will be featured at 2 p.m. and 7:30 pm as part of CAPA’s "Christmas in July" weekend.
Clark Wilson, official organist for the CAPA Summer Movie Series, will once again provide pre-show and intermission entertainment at the keys of the Ohio Theatre’s "Mighty Morton" theatre organ.
CAPA Summer Movie Series Ticket Strips, one of central Ohio’s best entertainment bargains, can be ordered now through July 6 at the Ohio Theatre ticket office (39 E. State St.) or www.ticketmaster.com.
Strips of 10 tickets are $21.50, a savings of $1.35 per ticket off day-of-show prices. Phone orders for strip tickets can be placed by calling 469-0939. For more information or to download an order form, visit www.capa.com. Strip tickets are good for any film in any combination.
Day-of-show tickets to individual films are $3.50 and go on sale one hour prior to show time at the Ohio Theatre kiosk. Senior citizen tickets are available for $3.
All tickets are general admission and seating is on a first come, first served basis.

Tom Waits, the rag and bones man of American music and one of the most influential singer-songwriters of the past 30 years, will bring his gravelly voice and skewed view of the world to the Ohio Theatre June 28 at 8 p.m. as part of his "Glitter and Doom" tour.
Tickets go on sale May 16 at 10 a.m.
The California native began his career playing piano and singing in seedy clubs and dives and has never lost touch with the downtrodden characters that inhabit many of his compositions.
Although he has been covered by the Eagles, Bruce Springsteen and Rod Stewart, his signature raspy vocals lend a unique authenticity to his observations in releases from Small Change and Heart Attack and Vine through Rain Dogs and Mule Variations.
Waits explores the full sonic range, augmenting his recordings with sound effects and squeezing his own voice through a bullhorn.
He has acted in numerous films, including Ironweed, Down by Law and Coffee and Cigarettes and wrote the score for Francis Ford Coppola’s One from the Heart.
Reserved seats are $85 plus venue facility fee and applicable ticketing costs and will be available from Ticketmaster.com and by phone 431-3600 only.
Tickets are not available at retail locations or the box office. All tickets will be delivered via Paperless Ticket. You will not receive paper tickets for these events.
