Groveport Madison High School art students work on a special mosaic that will be installed and dedicated on an outside wall at Groveport Madison High School prior to the varsity football game on Oct. 1. Groveport Madison Communications Director Jeff Warner said the mosaic consists of four inch square tiles and will stand eight to nine feet in height. According to Groveport Madison High School art teacher Megan Stauffer-Miller, the piece was inspired to mark the end of a three year relationship with the Ohio Arts Council’s embedded artist – Juliellen Byrne – a resident of Groveport, a historic educational landmark for students and educators as they transitioned through many phases of instruction; and a call to action to all stakeholders to claim their own bravery and place as participants of the larger community. “Very few students have the opportunity to see an actual sculpture of this scale in production,” said Stauffer-Miller.
