Red Cross blood drives

The Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross, 121 W. Mulberry St., in Lancaster, will hold the following blood drives (for information call (740) 687-5585):

•Feb. 2 – Bloodmobile at Pope John XXIII Parish, 5170 Winchester-Southern Road, Canal Winchester, from 8 a.m. to noon. Phone 614-920-1563 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins welcome.

•Feb. 3 – Bloodmobile at Sycamore Creek Church, 8100 Refugee Road, Pickerington, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Phone Kristy at 614-920-4020 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins welcome.

•Feb. 9 – Bloodmobile at Pickerington Kroger, 1045 Hill Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Phone 1-800-GIVE-LIFE to schedule an appointment; walk-ins are welcome.

•Feb. 10 – Bloodmobile at Peace United Methodist Church 235 Diley Road Pickerington, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Phone Susan at 614-837-3732 to schedule an appointment; walk-ins are welcome.


Heroes breakfast

The American Red Cross of Fairfield County’s 2008 "Heroes Breakfast," will be held at 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 12 at the Eagles Event Center, 1936 E. Main St., Lancaster.  Tickets are $25. Call (740) 687-5585.


Pinewood Derby

Cub Scout Pack 256 in Pickerington will hold its Pinewood Derby race on Feb. 2 from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Seton Parish Hall (Seton Parish on State Route 256) in Pickerington. For information call Geri Tsardoulias at 920-0725.

Movie night

The Fairfield County Democratic Education and Outreach Committee and the Young Democrats Club will screen Michael Moore’s film "Sicko" at 7 p.m. on Jan. 29 at Independence Hall, 1776 Cedar Hill Road in Lancaster.
