Red Cross blood drives
The Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross, 121 W. Mulberry St., in Lancaster, will hold the following blood drives (for information call (740) 687-5585):
•March 1 – Bloodmobile at the Pickerington Christian Church, 575 Diley Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Phone 302-561-4662 to schedule an appointment. Open to the public and walk-ins are welcome.
POP Arts
POP Community Center for the Arts, 895 Old Diley Road in Pickerington, will offer the following classes through the American Safety and Health Institute:
•CPR/AED in the Community and Workplace on March 8 at 9 a.m. Cost is $25 per person and includes a two year certification for your work in the community or our workplace.
•First Aid in the Community and Workplace on March 8 at 1 p.m. Includes a three year certification. Fee is $25, however, if both the CPR and First Aid are taken on the same day, the fee for both classes is $40. Blood borne pathogens can be included for $5. Register by March 6 at 833-940 for either or both classes.
American Legion dinner
American Legion Post 283, 7725 Refugee Road, Pickerington, will host a steak dinner on Feb. 29 from 6-9 p.m. Cost is $10.
Celebrate Women
Christine Pelosi, author of "Campaign Boot Camp: Basic Training for Future Leaders," will offer the keynote address during Celebrate Women, a day-long conference held in recognition of Women’s History Month at Ohio University-Lancaster Campus March 7. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with Pelosi speaking at 10:30 a.m.
Auditor of State Mary Taylor will deliver a luncheon keynote address at Ohio University Pickerington Center’s Celebrate Women conference, to be held on March 14, from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The cost per conference, including lunch, is $25. Anyone choosing to attend both conferences will pay $40. Students may attend at $20 per conference or $35 for both days.
