Heroes breakfast
The American Red Cross of Fairfield County’s 2008 "Heroes Breakfast," will be held at 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 12 at the Eagles Event Center, 1936 E. Main St., Lancaster. Tickets are $25. Call (740) 687-5585.
"Heroes" art winners
The American Red Cross of Fairfield County, a United Way agency announced that Joseph Achenbach of Amanda-Clearcreek received first place in the 2008 "Heroes Breakfast Art Contest," sponsored by the Lancaster Rotary Club and the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio (DACO).
Second place went to Maggie Palsgrove of Bloom-Carroll and third place went to Julia Davenport, also from Amanda-Clearcreek.

•Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. – "Dangerous Young Boys Club. It’s a Secret!" This event is open to all daring young men in grades 1-6. Barnes & Noble and the Pickerington Public Library announce the formation of the Pickerington Local Chapter of this new club with monthly activities based on the best selling book, "The Dangerous Book for Boys," by Conn & Hal Iggulden. POP Arts
POP Community Center for the Arts, 895 Old Diley Road in Pickerington, will offer the following classes through the American Safety and Health Institute:
•Child and Babysitting Safety on Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. Register by Feb. 14 at 833-9040. Cost is $20 and provides two year certification for employer or community work.
•CPR/AED in the Community and Workplace on March 8 at 9 a.m. Cost is $25 per person and includes a two year certification for your work in the community or our workplace.
•First Aid in the Community and Workplace on March 8 at 1 p.m. Includes a three year certification. Fee is $25, however, if both the CPR and First Aid are taken on the same day, the fee for both classes is $40. Blood borne pathogens can be included for $5. Register by March 6 at 833-940 for either or both classes.
Pickerington Garden Club

American Legion dinner
American Legion Post 283, 7725 Refugee Road, Pickerington, will host a steak dinner on Feb. 29 from 6-9 p.m. Cost is $10.
