In response to a recent survey of Violet Township residents, the Violet Township trustees are organizing a park advisory committee.

The trustees invite citizens of the township including Pickerington, to participate on the committee and to attend a meeting  about the committee on April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Violet Township meeting room, 12970 Rustic Drive, Pickerington.

The task of the group will be to study the advantages and disadvantages of forming a joint park district with the city of Pickerington, park land preservation, and green space initiatives.

Township officials state that residents have said park land and green spaces are important to the quality of life and for preserving the rural feel of the township.
