VTWL style show
The Violet Township Women’s League (VTWL) will host its ninth annual style show and luncheon on April 19 at Tall Timbers Banquet and Conference Center in Reynoldsburg. Auditions
Pickerington Community Theatre’s production of "The Velveteen Rabbit" will hold auditions on May 2 at 7 p.m. and May 3 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Call backs and casting will take place May 4 at 2 p.m. A large cast of 18 to 20 is needed and the age group will range from 7 to 19. PCHS tennis fund raiser
Pickerington Central High School’s boys and girls tennis teams will hold a "giant parking lot sale" yard sale type fund raiser on May 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Hill Road and Opportunity Way across from the Pickerington Library. Violet Twp. to form
park advisory committee
In response to a recent survey of Violet Township residents, the Violet Township trustees are organizing a park advisory committee.
The trustees invite citizens of the township including Pickerington, to participate on the committee and to attend a meeting about the committee on April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Violet Township meeting room, 12970 Rustic Drive, Pickerington.
The task of the group will be to study the advantages and disadvantages of forming a joint park district with the city of Pickerington, park land preservation, and green space initiatives.
Township officials state that residents have said park land and green spaces are important to the quality of life and for preserving the rural feel of the township. In order to provide ongoing programs and to expand the recreational opportunities, the trustees are requesting citizen involvement to develop a suggested plan for future generations.

Plants & pancakes
The Pickerington Senior Center, 150 Hereford Drive, will hold its third annual plant sale in conjunction with the center’s pancake breakfast on April 26 from 8 a.m. to noon.
MOMS toy/clothing sale
The Pickerington MOMS Club North Chapter will hold its annual toy and clothing sale on April 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Redeemer United Methodist Church, 235 McNaughten Road, Reynoldsburg. Last year the event raised nearly $300 for Children’s Hospital and The Ronald McDonald House.
Arbor Day in Pickerington
On April 25 at 7 p.m. the Pickerington Tree Commission will celebrate Arbor Day with a ceremony at the Sycamore Park Arboretum. This year’s Arbor Day tree is a redbud, which will be dedicated to Violet Township and its residents. This dedication will commemorate the township’s bicentennial celebration.
OCC to realign
The 32 team Ohio Capital Conference will realign into four eight team divisions for the 2008-09 season. The new alignment:
•Ohio Division – Central Crossing Comets, Dublin Coffman Shamrocks, Hilliard Darby Panthers, Hilliard Davidson Wildcats, Thomas Worthington Cardinals, Upper Arlington Golden Bears, Westland Cougars, and Worthington Kilbourne Wolves.
•Central Division – Gahanna Lincoln Lions, Grove City Greyhounds, Groveport Madison Cruisers, Lancaster Golden Gales, Newark Wildcats, Pickerington Central Tigers, Pickerington North Panthers, and Reynoldsburg Raiders.
•Cardinal Division – Dublin Jerome Celtics, Dublin Scioto Irish, Marysville Monarchs, Olentangy Braves, Olentangy Liberty Patriots, Westerville Central Warhawks, Westerville North Warriors, and Westerville South Wildcats.
•Capital Division – Big Walnut Golden Eagles, Delaware Hayes Pacers, Franklin Heights Golden Falcons, Hilliard Bradley Jaguars, Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets, New Albany Eagles, Olentangy Orange Pioneers, and Watkins Memorial Warriors
