Groveport Senior Center
The Groveport Senior Center, located in the Groveport Recreation Center, 7370 Groveport Road, offers the following:
•Mondays -play bridge at 11:30 a.m. or progressive euchre at 12:30 p.m.
•Tuesdays – double deck pinochle at 12:30 p.m.
•Wednesdays – all – noon: poker, quilting; 5 p.m.: double deck pinochle; fourth Wednesday – 10 a.m. – Super Game Day.
•Thursdays – all – 9:30 a.m. – crafts; 11:45 a.m. – lunch; first Thursday, 10 a.m. – Game Day; 12:30 p.m. – hand & foot; second Thursday – 9 a.m. to noon – county nurse; 12:30 p.m. – business meeting; 1 p.m. – hand & foot; third Thursday, 12:30 p.m. – cash bingo, hand & foot following bingo; fourth Thursday, 12:30 p.m. – euchre, hand & foot.
•Fridays offer bowling at Eastland Lanes at 9 a.m. and poker at 6 p.m.
•Saturdays progressive euchre at 6 p.m.
•Sundays are to just come in and relax.

Heritage Nature Center
The following programs are offered at the Heritage Nature Center at the log house in Heritage Park on Wirt Road in Groveport. Programs are free and open to children of all ages unless otherwise specified. For information call 836-3333.
•Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. – Weekend Science Sleuth: Experiment with kitchen items.
•Nov. 12 at noon – Senior Exclusive: Ohio’s Birds of Prey, Brown Bag Lunch Program – Bring a lunch and enjoy a program about the special features of owls and hawks.
•Nov. 16 at 4 p.m. – Turkey Time: Gobble up facts about this big bird.
•Nov. 20 at 6:30 p.m. – Pioneer Children’s Craft: Learn about quilts and make paper samples of different patterns that were used in days gone by.
•Nov. 22 at 10 a.m. – Let’s Decorate for the Holidays: All ages are needed to help transform the Log House for the season.
Groveport Garden Club
The Groveport Garden Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month at Groveport Zion Lutheran Church, 6014 Groveport Road, Groveport. The club welcomes anyone interested in gardening. For information call Virginia Myers, 836-5456.

The 2009 Entertainment Books are here and packed with coupons. The books are $20 each and include Southeastern Franklin County Chamber merchants and area businesses. Make holiday cards
Make four different holiday cards on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Groveport Town Hall, 648 Main St. Instructors will teach participants how to make four different designs of cards. The cost is $15 for residents and $16 for non-residents. All supplies are provided. This class is for adults. To register call (614) 836-3333.
Veterans Day
The village of Groveport will host a Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. in Veterans Park on Main Street. Guest speaker will be 1st Lt. Michael J. Pohorilla, U.S. Army Air Corps (retired), navigator, 8th Air Force 385th Bomb Group WWII.
Flu shots
The Franklin County Board of Health is offering flu shots for $25 per shot for adults age 18 and up from 1-3 p.m. at the Groveport Senior Center, 7370 Groveport Road, Groveport, on Nov. 18. For information call (614) 462-3849.
Painting classes
The following painting classes will be offered at Groveport Town Hall, 648 Main St. (call 836-3333 to register or for information):
•Slate painting classes on Nov. 12, at 6:30 p.m. Slate provided. Cost is $20 for residents and $22 for non-residents.
•A painting class on Nov. 17. Paint a snowman onto a glass jar and turn into a scented candle. Jars provided.
Learn to dance
Hip hop dance classes for ages 7-14 will be offered at Groveport Town Hall, 648 Main St. starting Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. This four week series is $40 for residents and $45 for non-residents. To register call (614) 836-3333.
Bundling ceremony
A Native American bundling ceremony will be held at Groveport Log House, 551 Wirt Rd, on Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m. Learn about Native American bundling ceremonies, medicine wheels and participate in a drumming circle around the campfire, at this free event.
