Asbury PTO buys books

For the third year Asbury Elementary’s PTO  purchased a book for every student in the school. The only criteria was that it must be a book the student could read and cost less than $5. Each student visited the book fair in the school’s media center and choose the book they wanted. This was a winning situation for all as the students received a book of their choice to read this summer and the media center received the profits from the sale to purchase more books for the library. The Asbury PTO spent more than $2,000 to promote the literacy effort.
