CW Sertoma meets
Canal Winchester Sertoma Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at Donatos Pizza, 6310 Prentiss School Drive, Canal Winchester. Sertoma’s main sponsorship focus is speech and hearing. Sertoma exists for the noble purpose of "Service to Mankind" by communication of thoughts, ideas and concepts to accelerate human progress in health, education, freedom and democracy. At Wagnalls Memorial

•Belly Dancing Exercise Class Mondays 10-11:30 a.m. and 5:30-7 p.m. $7 each class.

CW’s Farmer’s Market
Main Street Canal Winchester will sponsor a Farmer’s Market each Saturday through Oct. 18 in historic downtown Canal Winchester from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vendors will offer fresh produce, flowers, hand made crafts, candy, cookies, and more. Music & Art in the Park
Canal Winchester’s "Music and Art in the Park" free concert series will be held the third Friday of every month, May through August, from 6-9 p.m. at Stradley Park, just north of the village municipal building at 36 S. High St. Additional activities will include face painting by the Canal Winchester Art Guild, a roaming magician, a caricature artist, and art displays by the Canal Winchester Art Guild.
This year’s schedule includes:
•"A Touch of Country," July 18 with the Christy Angeletti Band from 6-9 p.m. as well as line dance instruction from 6-7 p.m. As part of this theme, area residents and businesses will have the opportunity to set up tables with pre-approved products to sell, such as produce, or items to display, such as arts and crafts.
•"Island Rhythms on the Canal" will be held Aug. 15 with Spirit of the Pacific Island hula dancers from 6-7 p.m. and the Tropics Island Quartet from 7-9 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating at this family-friendly event. Food and drink is available for purchase through event concessionaire Roman’s Pizza. Picnics are also welcome; however, alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Canal Winchester’s community center, located at 22 S. Trine Street, will be used as a backup location in the case of inclement weather for all concerts except the June 20 "Blast From the Past" event.
CWACC golf outing
The Canal Winchester Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual golf outing on July 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pine Hill Golf Course, 4382 Kauffman Road, Carroll. Registration at 7:30 a.m. with shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost is $65 per golfer and $260 per team. After July 4 cost is $80 per golfer and $320 per team. "Marblehead Light"
Join local Artist, Patty Sykes, a certified Robert Warren Instructor at Gender Road Christian Church on July 26 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. as she guides you to paint "Marblehead Light" on canvas in oils. Woodcarving presentation
The Canal Winchester Area Historical Society will present a program about woodcarving on July 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hockman meeting room at the O.P. Chaney Elevator, located at the corner of North High and Oak streets in downtown Canal Winchester. Bob Roshon will discuss the various types of woodcarving and he will demonstrate his technique. CW Hall of Fame
The Canal Winchester High School Athletic Hall of Fame recently announced its 16th class of inductees. Hall of Fame inductees are:
•Bill Allen (1976) – basketball, baseball, football;
•John Bender (1960) – football, basketball, baseball, track;
•Jermaine Ward (1991) – baseball, basketball, football, track.
The Award of Merit recipient is Paul Hartman (2003), sports announcer.
