CW Sertoma meets
Canal Winchester Sertoma Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at Donatos Pizza, 6310 Prentiss School Drive, Canal Winchester. Sertoma’s main sponsorship focus is speech and hearing. Sertoma exists for the noble purpose of "Service to Mankind" by communication of thoughts, ideas and concepts to accelerate human progress in health, education, freedom and democracy. Lasagna dinner
St. John Lutheran Church will hold its annual lasagna dinner on April 5 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Wagnalls Memorial in Lithopolis. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for kids ages 3-11 with children under 3 free. Call (614) 837-2947 for information.
Handling money

Daddy-Daughter Dance
The fifth annual Canal Winchester Daddy-Daughter Dance will be held at Indian Trail Elementary School on May 2 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The dance is sponsored by Faith United Methodist Church. The theme is "Ready, Set, Go" and is for girls in grades K-8 and their daddy figures (dad, grandpa, uncle, special male friend, etc.) Cost is $18 per couple and $9 for each additional daughter. The evening includes refreshments, prom-like picture, DJ and dancing. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required and will be limited to the first 150 couples. Deadline is April 25. The winner of the Lithopolis Spring Thyme Shop Hop gift basket was Emily Mullin of Gahanna.
School levy blues
The Ohio School Boards Association has reported that, according to the Ohio Department of Education, only 46.1 percent of the school tax issues on the March 4 primary ballot passed. That passage rate is the lowest for a primary election in the last 25 years, according to the Education Tax Policy Institute. The approval rate in the last two primaries was 54.3 percent in 2007 and 58.8 percent in 2006.
Fitzwater – Bond wed
Kelly Jo Fitzwater and Jeffrey Alan Bond were wed on March 20 at New Beginnings Chapel in Grove City.
The ceremony was performed by Michael Rice. The maid of honor was Abbie Jo Fitzwater, daughter of the bride. The best man was John H. Bond, father of the groom.
The bride is a graduate of Fairless High School and is employed by Gorsuch Management.
The groom is a graduate of Canal Winchester High School and is employed by Mid-City Electric.
The couple will reside in Obetz.
