Apple Butter Day 2019 (photos)

Groveport resident Brian Casserly stirred fresh apple butter as it cooked over an open fire during Groveport’s Apple Butter Day festival, which was held Oct. 12 in Heritage Park.
Sharon Mech of the Columbus Weaving and Fiber Arts Guild demonstrated how to make yarn on a spinning wheel.
The acoustic folk band Delightful Sounds performed in the Groveport Log House.
The legendary Johnny Appleseed visited Apple Butter Day and checked out the apples that were being given away. Below, lots of jars of apple butter were sold at the festival. Plus several antique tractors (second photo below) were on display.

Members of the Groveport Trees and Decoration Committee, along with Mayor Lance Westcamp and Council President Shawn Cleary, dedicated two benches by the apple orchard near Palm Pond to the late Linda Crowder and the late Donna Drury in memory of their service to the community over the years.
