The London Rotary Club is pleased to honor senior Andrew Geyer as Madison-Plains High School’s September Student of the Month.
Students of the month are selected by school administrators based on their academic and extracurricular achievement and positive character.
Andrew has a 4.181 weighted grade point average and ranks first in his class. His favorite courses are marching band and concert band. He has been involved with the marching band throughout high school, helping the band earn a superior rating at the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) state competition for three years. He has also participated in OMEA Solo & Ensemble competitions, earning two superior ratings on the marimba and one on the snare drum. He also participated in track last spring and is currently running cross country.
When asked to name a school staff member who inspires him, Andrew replied, “My band director, Mr. (Dan) McCulloch, is an inspiration to me because even though he is new this year, he is super friendly and open to new ideas. Not only that, but he is extremely understanding and easy to get along with.”
About Andrew, McCulloch said, “Andrew has been a fantastic student leader and is very dedicated to his craft. I am honored to be considered inspirational by him, and in turn he is also very inspirational to his peers around him.”
After graduation, Andrew plans to attend a four-year college to study music or technology.
Andrew is the son of Cari and Scott Geyer.
