With a 3-1 record, the senior-laden girls varsity tennis team at Bishop Ready traveled to Central Crossing High School in Grove City on Aug. 26 hoping to increase the number of wins for their new season. While the team racked up victories in the singles event, the Knights ultimately fell 2-3. Here, sophomore Kayla Thomas competes against Sophia Tuscano. Thomas went on to win the two-hour match in three sets.
In a typical year, teammates would give high-fives after a good set. For this year, however, doubles duo Iveth Saucedo and Lizzie Ramos tap rackets instead. Though the senior and junior, respectively, lost the match in two sets and their team the overall competition, head coach Dan Skuce said they are just happy there is a season to be played.
