Alder will dedicate new synthetic turf field at meet-the-teams night

Jonathan Alder High School’s new synthetic turf project is complete. A meet-the-teams night, stadium dedication, and marching band performance are scheduled for Thursday.

The Jonathan Alder Turf Committee, Athletic Boosters and Music Boosters are hosting a meet-the-teams celebration and stadium dedication on Aug. 15.

The celebration will take place at Jonathan Alder High School’s Volunteer Field. Synthetic turf was installed on the field this summer.

The high school’s fall teams will be recognized: marching band, cheerleading, cross country, golf, football, soccer, girls’ tennis and volleyball.

Everyone will be welcome to check out the new field and be among the “First on the Turf.” Commemorative t-shirts will be sold.

The schedule of events is as follows:

5 p.m. – Gates open

5:30 p.m. – Food catered by Red Door BBQ ($8 – adult meal, pulled pork sandwich; $5 – kids’ meal, mac and cheese)

7 p.m. – Meet the Teams, stadium dedication and donor recognition, and marching band performance.
