The Champaign and Madison OSU Extension offices are hosting a Precision Ag Day on Aug. 25 where the focus will be on prescriptive tillage technology.

The Champaign and Madison County OSU Extension offices are hosting a Precision Ag Day on Aug. 25, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Michael’s Building on the Champaign County Fairgrounds, 384 Park Ave., Urbana.

The focus will be on prescriptive tillage technology, the next step in sub-field management with implements able to adjust on the fly while in operation.
Specialists from Ohio State University will present information about the agronomic factors to consider with this technology and what might be a fit for your operation.

Local equipment dealers will be on hand to discuss what their respective companies have to offer. Cargill will provide a brisket lunch by Family K Concessions and will give a presentation on the changes at their Sidney facility.

Speakers are as follows:
• Tillage and Nutrient Loss–Greg Labarge, OSU Extension agronomic field specialist;

• Current Precision Tillage Technology–Dr. John Fulton, OSU precision ag specialist;

• Agronomic Factors and Tillage Decision–Dr. Stephanie Karhoff, OSU Extension agronomic field specialist; and

• Equipment Discussion–John Deere, Koenig Equipment; Great Plains, Apple Farm Service; Case IH, Farmers Equipment.
