The Advanced Choirs at Grove City High School, Chorale and Harmonia, under the direction of Choral Director Ann Johnson, will perform a solo concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Tuesday, June 21.

The performance, entitled Vocal Colors, is presented by Distinguished Concerts International New York. The choral students at GCHS have been rehearsing for this special concert for months and are excited and honored to perform on one of the world’s most famous stages.

“It is with great pride that the choir students at Grove City High School and myself have been given the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall,” Johnson said. “With the hardships and obstacles we have had to overcome throughout the past few years, we are humbled to be rewarded in such a way. The preparations have been a year in the making and now we are ready to leave our mark on that famous stage with our music.”

While in NYC, Harmonia and Chorale also will perform at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, experience an exclusive Broadway workshop and take a backstage tour of Radio City Music Hall.

Harmonia and Chorale were originally invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in June 2021 in collaboration with the Columbus Children’s Chorus, but the event was canceled due to the pandemic and the closure of Broadway performances until late last year.

  1. SO SO PROUD THAT our grandaughter Mallory Brown has been a part of this during her years at GCHS. And this group always goes above and beyond with their talent and with the excellent instruction of Ms Johnson. Thank all of you so much .
