The London Rotary Club is pleased to honor senior Adriel Owens as Madison-Plains High School’s November Student of the Month.

Students of the month are selected by school administrators based on their academic and extracurricular achievement and positive character.

Adriel has a 4.017 grade point average and is ranked third in her class. Her favorite course is Biology 2. Adriel has been on the soccer and basketball teams for four years. She has received several awards in both sports and recently named first-team All-Ohio Heritage Conference for soccer. She has been on the honor roll many times and is a member of the National Honor Society.

When asked to name a school staff person who inspires her, Adriel said, “An inspiration of mine would be Ms. (Molly) Niese because she always finds a way to be happy and enjoy our time. It helped me realize I can make anything fun and enjoyable.”

About Adriel, Niese said, “Adriel lights up any classroom she walks into with her quest for knowledge, kindness and outgoing personality. She is always willing to participate in class, lend a helping hand or catch a frog whenever necessary. She is a bright light, and the world is a better place because she is in it.”

After graduation, Adriel plans to become a dental assistant and work her way up. She is the daughter of Warren and Tina Owens.

The London Rotary Club has a proud history dating back to 1929. It is a member of Rotary International, a volunteer organization of 1.2 million businesses and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service and help build good will and peace.
