AARP Tax-Aide will not provide free tax prep in London this year

(Posted Jan. 26, 2021)

Because of the pandemic, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide will not be able to provide free tax preparation in London this year.

However, some nearby sites will open the week of Feb. 15. The closest sites will be in Hilliard, Dublin and Springfield. Contact information for these sites will be available starting Feb. 8 at

Most sites will not be doing tax preparation face-to-face as has been done in past years. Taxpayers will be asked to bring in their papers to be reviewed and scanned. The taxpayer will then return home. Tax-Aide will call when the taxes are done, and the taxpayer will return to the site to review their taxes with a counselor. The second visit will be scheduled during the first appointment.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is also working on several options for taxpayers to prepare their own returns on their home computer with free help from Tax-Aide volunteers. Details will be posted at the Tax-Aide website in early February.

Additionally, taxpayers can go to to find nearby IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites that may offer free tax preparation services.

Tax-Aide hopes to resume normal operations in London next year.
