On Dec. 16, Christmas wreaths were laid on soldiers graves in Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery. Shown here are Greg Powell and his grandson, Gunner Powell placing a wreath. They participated in the annual Wreaths Across America program whose motto is to Remember (all our fallen US Veterans) Honor (Those who Serve) and Teach (Your children the value of Freedom). This year, more than one million wreaths were laid on veteran’s graves across the county in 1,422 cemeteries. Over 40 people helped to lay over 100 wreaths here on the Westside. Assisting in the ceremony was a color guard from the 5th Kentucky Re-Enactment group.
