Grove City Councilman Roby Schottke checks on the watermelon during a cook-off at the Farmer’s Market on June 8. Schottke and his son, Kyle were making the grilled fruit and topping it with balsamic reduction, goat cheese and fresh mint. A representative with the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce, the organization which presents the annual Farmer’s Market, said a number of local celebrities will be on hand each Saturday for the cook-off, including the fierce battle between the fire and police chiefs which will take place on June 22. The Farmer’s Market runs each Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon through Sept. 14.
