Like many programs, Groveport Madison Human Needs had to take a two year absence from our normal Christmas Adopt-A-Family operation, but this year we are back to our normal mode of operation and this year we are celebrating year 15!
Currently, we have 53 families with 160-plus children adopted by Angels from our community and beyond who will receive their family Christmas at Groveport Zion Lutheran Church, 6014 Groveport Road, on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. On Saturday afternoon we have approximately 70 families with 260-plus children attending Abundance Alley and the following week we will have some families attend a shopping trip with us for their Christmas. All of this can only be accomplished with our community of Angels who contribute by adopting a family, adding new gifts, gently used coats or food to Abundance Alley, or contributing financially for our shopping trip.
We are very proud of the Groveport Madison High School/Eastland-Fairfield Marketing & Logistics career tech students who help us on our receiving days to get everything organized for distribution and the GMHS Student Council and NHS for raising $4,000 to shop for 26 kids.
Distribution is Dec. 16 from noon to 5 p.m. and Dec. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon. Abundance Alley is Dec. 17 from 1 p.m. to finish. Shopping day is Dec. 20 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Meijer in Canal Winchester.
