A howling good time

It has been ruff, but the time to sit is over!

Jump at the chance to experience Grove City’s much-anticipated dog park – come to Bark at Breck, from 1 to 4 p.m., Aug. 24 at Breck Community Park, 3005 Demorest Road.

The event features rescue organizations, pet-care groups and vendors sharing information and selling materials to benefit pets. Visitors may even meet a new addition for the family.

Try out the fenced, off-leash dog play areas with separate enclosures for large (35 pounds and heavier) and small dogs (up to 34 pounds). Dogs must remain leashed when not in fenced areas. After all the fun, owners can have their dogs bathed by Boy Scout Troop 136 for a donation.

Pets must be spayed or neutered, display valid rabies and license tags and be sociable with people and other dogs to attend. Participants are asked to register and sign a release at the event. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. There is no off-leash swimming at this event.

Businesses and organizations interested in reserving a spot to set up at the event should contact the parks and recreation office at 277-3050 or visit www.GroveCityOhio.gov. Non-profits can set up for free; for-profit vendors are charged a $25 fee.

For more information, visit www.GroveCityOhio.gov or call the Grove City Parks and Recreation Department at 277-3050.
