Grove City continues its dedication to offering recreational opportunities to individuals of all abilities with the opening of a new playground at Windsor Park, 3400 Ventura Blvd. The play area is adjacent to the Mirolo Dream Field at Mount Carmel Stadium. The new playground is open to the public and designed to provide an outdoor play environment with experiences that address physical and social inclusion for children of all ages and abilities.
All are invited to join Mayor Richard “Ike” Stage and other dignitaries to attend a ribbon cutting at 5:45 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17. After the ceremony, the community is encouraged to watch the adult Buddy Ball league in action as the Indians take on the Reds at 6 p.m.
The Dream Field Playground, designed by GameTime, has been designated by PlayCore as a National Demonstration Site for meeting best practices in inclusive design and program elements.
The city received funding from the playground as a Capital Improvement Community Recreation Project administered by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
