23rd Annual Katie Fisher Golf Scramble set for Aug. 24

(Posted Aug. 8, 2019)

The 23rd Annual Katie Fisher Golf Scramble is set for Aug. 24 at Locust Hills Golf Club, 5575 N. River Road, Springfield. Proceeds fund college scholarships for Madison-Plains High School FFA students.

The 18-hole four-person scramble features a shotgun start and a tee time of 8 a.m. The cost to enter is $220 per team. All entries are due by Aug. 17.

Prizes will go to the top team and the worst team. Various holes will offer hole-in-one contests. The entry fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch.

Hole sponsorships are $100. Hole-in-one sponsorships are $150.

The golf scramble is named in honor of Katie Fisher, a Madison-Plains student who was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma in 1995. She lost her battle with the disease that same year. To keep her memory alive, Fisher’s family created a scholarship to help further educational opportunities for Madison-Plains FFA students. The scramble and outside donations help to keep the scholarship going.
