The Boy Scouts of America awarded Sam Spahn the rank of Eagle Scout in a Court of Honor held Dec. 4 at Brennan Loft in London. Spahn is a member of Troop 104 sponsored by London First United Methodist Church.
Boy Scouts, leaders, family and friends were part of the ceremony. Spahn thanked his fellow Scouts and Scout leaders, Mayor David Eades, City of London Building Inspector Vince Benedetti, Tim Roby of Roby Memorial Design & Lettering, and Jim Stidham and the staff of Creamer Metal Products for their help with his community service project. The project is a requirement for attaining the Eagle Scout rank.
Spahn, with the help of those mentioned, refurbished the Time Capsule Bell Monument in Cowling Park this summer and held a rededication ceremony in August as part of the celebration of Londons Bicentennial.
Spahn is a very active senior in the Class of 2012 at London High School and the 67th Eagle Scout honored in the history of Troop 104. He will attend Northwestern University in the fall of 2012. He is the son of Dr. Mitchell and Sheri Spahn.
