"Secretary of the Year" named from Wedgewood MS
The Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators named Anita Ward, secretary at Wedgewood Middle School, Secretary of the Year on April 15.
Superintendent Gene Harris, Columbus City Schools, acknowledged Ward for her superior service with the district.
“A school cannot operate effectively without a secretary. They are an administrative assistant to the principal and answer hundreds of phone calls, all while assisting teachers, parents, and students,” Harris said.
She added, “Good secretaries accomplish all these tasks well, but great secretaries are a step ahead.”
Ward has been with the district for eight years, six of which have been spent at Wedgewood.
