Athena leadership workshop to be held in Pickerington


The Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce will hold an “Athena Leadership Development Workshop” May 17.
 
The workshop will be held at Ohio University Pickerington Center from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (doors will open at 8:30 a.m.)
Julie McManus, principal and managing partner of the Leadership Excellence Center, is the keynote speaker for this year’s theme, “In Her Own Footsteps.”
 
The workshop will have three rotating sessions:
 
• Session one - “He Said, She Said” presenters Pamela A. Kaylor, PhD, a faculty member at Ohio University Pickerington and Lancaster campus, and Janna Yeshonova-Stephens, Ma, Med., founder and principal of Life-Spark.
 
• Session two - “Cracking the Non-Verbal Code: Understanding What is Not Being Said” presenters Dr. Nancy Montgomery of Nancy Montgomery, DDS, MS, Inc. and Nicole D. Blau, PhD, assistant professor of Communication Studies Ohio University Lancaster.
 
• Session three - “When to Hit the Internal Edit Button: Avoiding the Pitfalls of Saving Too Much” presenters Joy Davis, Violet Township economic development specialist, and Lynn Miller PHR, city of Pickerington human resources director.
 
The cost of the workshop includes lunch and a personalized, signed certificate of participation. Registration fee for the workshop is $25 for the community and $15 for students.

Athena Award recipient announced
 
The Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce has named Jodi Wilson, vice president of operations for Diley Ridge Medical Park, as this year’s Athena Award recipient.
 
The chamber will present Wilson with the Athena Award May 17 at the Athena Banquet held at Hickory Lakes at 6 p.m.
The public is welcome. Cost for the banquet is $40 per person, and registration is required.
