New parking restrictions in Prairie Township

As Prairie Township moves into the second phase of the South Grener Avenue street improvement project, new restrictions will prohibit parking between Stiles Avenue and Home Depot – similar to the parking restrictions adopted by the board in 2009 that covered Sullivant Avenue to Stiles Avenue. The new resolution was passed during the March 9 Board of Trustees meeting.

“This resolution covers Stiles, further north, to the northern driveway of the Home Depot,” Township Administrator Tracy Hatmaker said.

Additionally, the amount of $3,500 will be spent by the township to fund the landscaping plans for the proposed roundabout, which will be a part of the Grener Avenue project’s final stage of development.

“This landscaping basically consists of decorative pavers on the outside of the inner ring, which would allow larger vehicles like semi-trucks to miss the outside curb without doing damage,” Hatmaker said. “As well as provide a nice appearance of the inside of that ring.”
