Local church to hold auction
Peace United Methodist Church in Pickerington will hold a dinner and auction to help pay down the church’s mortgage March 12.
The event will begin with bidding and appetizers at 5:30 p.m., followed by a spaghetti dinner at 6 p.m. Silent bidding will be held until 7:15 p.m.
Bluegrass artist Mark Brinkman’s music will entertain throughout the evening.
Auctioned items include gift baskets, OSU memorabilia, original artwork, Columbus Zoo membership, OSU sports events tickets, rounds of golf, homemade pies and cakes and handmade quilts.
Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12, and free for children younger than 5. Peace United Methodist Church is located at the corner of Long and Diley roads. For more information, call (740) 927-0690.
Bishop Hartley open house
Bishop Hartley High School will hold a winter open house at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at the school, 1285 Zettler Road, Columbus. Eighth, seventh and sixth graders and their families are invited to attend. The event will feature brief informational talks from Principal Winters and the Guidance Department. Academic departments, athletic teams and extra-curricular activities will have information tables so attendees can ask questions and receive materials about programs that interest them. Faculty, administration, students and current parents will be available to answer questions. Campus tours and information folders will be available as well. Library storytime schedule
The Reynoldsburg library, 1402 Brice Road, has released its storytime schedule for this winter (through April 30):
Baby Laptime (birth - 18 months)
Tuesday - 11 a.m.
Toddler Storytime (18 months - 3 years)
Monday and Thursday - 10 a.m.
Preschool Storytime (3-6 years)
Tuesday - 10am /Wednesday - 11 a.m.
Family Storytime (all ages)
Saturday - 2 p.m.
Bread for the community
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 530 McNaughten Road in Columbus, distributes bread, bagels and other bakery produce as part of the Panera Bread “End of Day” program. The Prince of Peace distribution is every Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m. All bread is given away free on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Everyone is welcomed.
Couples ministry
Refuge of Hope Full Gospel Church is holding a ministry of couples that connect and bring strength to couples in these trying times. The group meets at 6 p.m. the first and third Saturday of the month at 80 S. 6th St. For more information, call (614) 279-3345.
Fundraising Bingo
New Beginnings Animal Shelter will host Bingo on Wednesdays at the American Legion, 7725 Refugee Road, Pickerington. Doors open at 5:45 p.m., and games start at 7 p.m. There will be a snack bar, Cookie Jar, great instants and Lucky Losers. For more information, go to www.newbeginningsas.org.
Parents’ Day Out
Parkview Presbyterian Church in Reynoldsburg is now accepting registration for its Parents’ Day Out Program.
The program is a Christian-based play group for 2- and 3-year-old children. The class meets on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Parkview Presbyterian Church is located on Livingston Avenue next to Blacklick Woods Metro Park.
