Murder warrants issued in 2009 homicide case

On Feb. 22, the Reynoldsburg Division of Police obtained arrest warrants on two individuals suspected of murdering a Columbus man, Omar Armando Casillas-Castenado, during August 2009.

The suspects, who were believed to be in the country illegally, reportedly had fled the country, returning to Mexico, shortly after the murder, according to a Reynoldsburg Division of Police news release.

One of the suspects, Antonio Martinez-Nunez, was detained by federal agents in Texas as he attempted to re-enter the county on Feb.21, according to the release. An alert put in place by local agents kept the suspect in custody until a Reynoldsburg detective was able to conduct an interview.

At the conclusion of the interview, warrants for murder were issued for Antonio Martinez-Nunez, who will be extradited back to Ohio, and Miguel Ahumada, the second suspect who is still believed to be in Mexico, according to the release.
