Meeting to discuss casino on Westside
The Westland Mall area on West Broad Street and the former Delphi plant on Georgesville Road are among several sites being considered for Columbus’ future casino site. According to local officials, public input will play a large part in the outcome of these plans.
Several local organizations have been given the task of gathering feedback from the community at large about the possibility of having a casino development in west Columbus. The next event where you can provide your feedback is at the next Greater Hilltop Area Commission meeting on Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Columbus Library Hilltop Branch, 511 S. Hague Ave. According to GHAC chair Chuck Patterson, “Public input will be sought and the commission will be asked to approve a letter of support for the idea in principle of the casino. Details will be worked out during negotiation but negotiation can only begin with community support.”
