Organizers of Reynoldsburg toy drive asking for donations
Organizers of Reynoldsburg's annual toy drive say donations are needed more than ever this year. The team of Mary Burcham and Lt. Mike Shirey of the Truro Township Fire Department has for many years sponsored a toy dirve for the needy children in the Reynoldsburg City School District. This toy drive is separate from the annual "Toys-for-Tots" drive, which is run by the Columbus area fire departments. Reynoldsburg's drive is specifically aimed at children of all ages who reside in and/or go to school in the Reynoldsburg City School District. This year once again, as times are hard, there are more and more families in need and organizers fear they will not receive the donations they have in years past. Organizers are seeking donations rom the community to ensure that the children in Reynoldsburg will have presents to open on Christmas morning. Those able to assist with donations of toys, gift certificates or monetary donations to purchase toys should contact Burcham at (614) 322-6840. Toys may be dropped off at the fire station at 6900 E. Main St. or 6305 E. Livingston Ave, the Reynoldsburg Municipal Building at 7232 E. Main St., the Reynoldsburg Division of Police at 7240 E. Main St., or at McDonalds on East Main Street or East Broad Street.
