Pickerington to host "Haunted Village" event

Pickerington will once again host the "Haunted Village," the traditional Halloween event for the city, from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28 on Columbus Street in Olde Pickerington.

The sponsors of the event are the city's Parks and Recreation Department, the Olde Pickerington Business Association and the Rock Factory. The Pickerington Lions Club is a participating sponsor.

Several activities for all ages are planned for the free event.

Ghost tours will occur every 10 minutes, focusing on areas and individuals from Pickerington history. Hayrides will be offered throughout the evening. Children can trick or treat in the Olde Village shoppes, and are encouraged to come in costume. Collection bags will be provided.

The Pickerington/Violet Township Historical Museum will be open. There also will be a story-teller and Halloween booths.

Two new features are a Haunted Garden, and "Rock Factory Unplugged," a stage where those who dress up as a performer can sing or play music that their chosen performer is noted for.

Food and beverages can be purchased. The event begins at 6 p.m. Ghost tours start at 6:30 p.m.
